Boost Your Confidence

We all can name numerous times that we have outweighed the odds and came out on top in the things that we tried to achieve, even when others were pessimistic in our ability. Challenges face each of us many times throughout life, and as long as we have confidence in our ability to achieve, we can usually succeed at anything that we put our mind to. A person can think positive about life and the obstacles that they face as long as they have self-confidence. There come times in each of our lives that we actually stand face to face with ourselves and realize that we may have lost the self-confidence that we once had. In this article, we will review ways that you can boost your self-confidence.

In order to have self-confidence, you must understand the concept. Self-confidence is the ability to see both your positive and negative attributes in a positive light and knowing where you stand in your ability to do certain things. If you are able to accept challenges and obstacles lightly, and are convinced that you can do anything that you put your mind to, then you have self-confidence.

There are times that a person may lack the self-confidence that they normally have. There are many reasons why this may occur. If you find that you are experiencing issues with your self-confidence, it is important that you try to discover exactly why you are experience the issue and try to resolve it as quickly as possible. If you allow your self-confidence to suffer for too long, you may end up experiencing depression and a general sense of apathy for life and all that it has to offer.

One of the first things that you should evaluate when you are suffering from a lack of self-confidence is whether your goals are realistic or not. If you set goals for yourself that are too high or try to achieve them in a shorter amount of time than is necessary, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. It is ideal to set small, realistic goals that you can achieve in a short time frame and the larger goals over a larger period.

It is important to understand that why we have a lot of control over the way that we feel, physiological changes can result in an alternation in moods. It is very important that you maintain a healthy diet, get plenty of sunlight, make sure that you exercise regularly, and get the proper amount of rest. You should ensure that you have checkups with your doctor each year, and that if something weighs on you, try to do what you can to lift the pressure and stress.

It is important, when your self-confidence is suffering, to evaluate the self-talk that may be negative. If you think thoughts about yourself that are negative, you are sure to turn into the negativity and your self-confidence will suffer. Be sure to think positive thoughts and boost your self-confidence!

Self Improvement Advice

There are particular moments in life when you wish you could depend on anybody’s self improvement advice. That is why specialists strongly advise you, every time you find yourself at a crossroads, to always take the decisions by yourself. The question arising is: how can we know how to take it and which is the best solution? No matter how young or old you are, you must have gotten to a point in your life when you have to take a big decision, which will probably affect your entire existence. There is no doubt that there are certain moments in life when you feel helpless and disoriented and believe you could use some self improvement advice in order to figure out how to proceed with your life. The answer is never simple. However, there is one self improvement advice that can be of great help and employed regularly will have great results. It is called meditation and it has been used for centuries in certain rituals and by ancients civilizations. Even in old and famous books, like the Bible, people are invited to meditate, to discover and fight the evil in us and by knowledge to gain control over our decisions and our lives. How do we proceed when meditating? First of all, you need to be away from any source of distraction. You cannot analyze your deepest feelings and thoughts and watch a movie at the same time. Secondly, you need to ask yourself a series of questions that will help you to better determine who you really are. The questions should relate to everyday aspects.

  1. What do you like doing?
  2. What made you most proud of yourself during your entire life?
  3. What is it that you always wanted to do and you never found the time?
  4. What role does money play in your life?
  5. What is it more important for you, you family life or your career?
  6. How much do you depend on others?

If you are worried about a certain decision, let all the questions be related to that issue. If you are just confused when asking the questions, think about the common topics that one has to deal with during his life. Do not forget to write down the answers. Try to concentrate and to be sincere. After all, nobody will judge you. All these questions will help you determine exactly where you stand and what is it that you want form life. All you have to do is to get the right interpretation of your own replies. In order to do that, help yourself to a cup of tea or your favorite coffee and take the time to analyze them thoroughly. Mark with a red pen whatever you find pride worthy answers and with a black one the things that do not make you proud. Post the list somewhere where you can see it more than once a day, or post it in more than one place. You will notice that, step by step, even unwillingly, the black things on your list will start turning red. Do not forget to renew the list when most of it has turned red! It is the best way to always be aware what your expectations from life are. Take this simple self improvement advice and see the positive results for yourself.

Keys to self improvement and motivation

The three keys to self improvement and motivation are:

1. INSPIRATION.

Inspiration is critical to staying motivated and improving oneself. If you are not interested in your business, your motivation level will never be high and you will not be able to sustain interest for very long.

Take an honest look at your inspiration level. Are you excited about going to work or is it an obligation? You would be surprised at the number of people who choose a business that looks good on paper, but in reality does not interest them in the least.

These individuals will grow weary and uninterested pretty quickly because they have no inspiration or passion to sustain them during the difficult times they will encounter as a small business owner.

If you do not like your work, then think how you can re-focus your small business to better match your needs. Or consider making a change entirely. Without inspiration, there will not be motivated to even try self improvement.

2. SETTING GOALS.

Short and long-term goal setting is vital for any business owner. If you do not set goals, you would have no definite purpose on which path of self improvement to take.

How could you possibly be motivated if you were unsure about the direction of your company?

Take the time to put your goals in writing. A business plan may sound daunting, but it is really nothing more than goals, strategies, implementation and a budget. Write your own business plan and update it at least annually.

Include “Mongols” that can be accomplished in a matter of hours, days or weeks as well as the more ambitious “grand goals” that may take years to complete. Refer to this plan throughout the year.

But can a business plan really help motivate you? Of course. Written goals will make you feel more professional and certainly more connected to your business. It will also free you from having to reinvent your business goals every single day.

3. NETWORKING.

Another key factor in getting and staying motivated is networking with other small business owners. No one person knows all the knowledge.

However, when a number of people begin working together, the challenges will just be there waiting to be conquered.

In fact, the isolation of working alone is of one the most difficult parts of being an entrepreneur. You can never be on your way to self improvement without the help of others.  Mutual support is motivating.
Make it easier on yourself by connecting with others either in your community or online. Even when businesses are not related, you will often find common ground and ways to work together.

Many successful entrepreneurs report that finding the right networking group was a turning point in the growth of the business. Working together, a networking group can help its members generate more qualified sales leads and solve problems faster and more efficiently.

Sharing ideas, expertise and experience is also an invaluable aspect of motivation and self improvement.
Your own personal team of business owners will help re-energize you when the burdens of running your own business seem too much.

With your networking team to rely on, you can accomplish more in less time and probably have more fun in the process. You will feel motivated to accomplish self improvement when you know you are not alone.

Planting Seeds of Action

By: MIKE SELVON

Recently, I was driving past a local nursery and saw a sign that said, “Fall Is For Planting.” As I drove, the idea on the sign was gnawing away at me. I asked myself, “what am I planting for fall?” What actions will I take now that will, with some love and nurturing, bring me a splendid and bountiful winter harvest?

What about you? What are you going to plant this fall? Will you lovingly plant exciting new seeds of action that will sprout into a new and more interesting lifestyle or will you, as James Allen says in As A Man Thinketh, let weeds grow by themselves?

As we enter this beautiful time of year, why not devote some time and energy to planning what you want to harvest in the winter months ahead. What can you do now, that will result in a bountiful harvest for you and your loved one’s?

The actions you take today will create the kind of life you will have tomorrow. Remember the simple idea that, if you continue to take the same actions, you will continue to produce the same results. If you want new and different results, you must take new and different actions.

Are you facing health challenges? Maybe now is the ideal time to begin a healthier food program and exercise regimen. If you start now, by Christmas, you will look and feel great. Imagine entering the new year without having to make a resolution to go on a diet! Imagine sitting at a Thanksgiving dinner table and not feeling guilty about overeating because you’ve already taken good care of your health. You may even decide to allow yourself a guilt free feast because you’ve earned it.

Maybe it’s time to start that business you’ve been thinking about. Begin now! Start taking the actions that will bring you toward your goals. Are you, like millions of others, interested in network marketing? Do your homework now. Investigate the companies that appeal to your tastes. Be sure to check your facts. There is a lot of hype in that industry. Investigate the company thoroughly before you sign. Then, go out and make it happen. Is this the time to begin planting new seeds of love in your relationships? What can you do now that will strengthen your bond with your soul mate in the months to come? What can you do now, that will blossom into a closer relationship with your children?

Take some time now to think about what seeds of action you can plant this fall to insure a beautiful, bountiful and exciting winter harvest.

Meditation

Meditation refers to a state where your body and mind are consciously relaxed
and focused.  Practitioners of this art report increased awareness,
focus, and concentration, as well as a more positive outlook in life.

Meditation is most commonly associated with monks, mystics and other
spiritual disciplines.  However, you don’t have to be a monk or mystic
to enjoy its benefits.  And you don’t even have to be in a special
place to practice it.  You could even try it in your own living room!

Although there are many different approaches to meditation, the fundamental
principles remain the same.  The most important among these principles
is that of removing obstructive, negative, and wandering thoughts and fantasies,
and calming the mind with a deep sense of focus.  This clears the
mind of debris and prepares it for a higher quality of activity.

The negative thoughts you have – those of noisy neighbors, bossy office
mates, that parking ticket you got, and unwanted spam– are said to contribute
to the ‘polluting’ of the mind, and shutting them out is allows for the
‘cleansing’ of the mind so that it may focus on deeper, more meaningful
thoughts.

Some practitioners even shut out all sensory input – no sights, no sounds,
and nothing to touch – and try to detach themselves from the commotion
around them.  You may now focus on a deep, profound thought if this
is your goal.  It may seem deafening at first, since we are all too
accustomed to constantly hearing and seeing things, but as you continue
this exercise you will find yourself becoming more aware of everything
around you.

If you find the meditating positions you see on television threatening
– those with impossibly arched backs, and painful looking contortions –
you need not worry.  The principle here is to be in a comfortable
position conducive to concentration.  This may be while sitting cross
legged, standing, lying down, and even walking.

If the position allows you to relax and focus, then that would be a
good starting point.  While sitting or standing, the back should be
straight, but not tense or tight.  In other positions, the only no-no
is slouching and falling asleep.

Loose, comfortable clothes help a lot in the process since tight fitting
clothes have a tendency to choke you up and make you feel tense.

The place you perform meditation should have a soothing atmosphere.
It may be in your living room, or bedroom, or any place that you feel comfortable
in.  You might want an exercise mat if you plan to take on the more
challenging positions (if you feel more focused doing so, and if the contortionist
in you is screaming for release).  You may want to have the place
arranged so that it is soothing to your senses.

Silence helps most people relax and meditate, so you may want a quiet,
isolated area far from the ringing of the phone or the humming of the washing
machine.  Pleasing scents also help in that regard, so stocking up
on aromatic candles isn’t such a bad idea either.

The monks you see on television making those monotonous sounds are actually
performing their mantra.  This, in simple terms, is a short creed,
a simple sound which, for these practitioners, holds a mystic value.

You do not need to perform such; however, it would pay to note that
focusing on repeated actions such as breathing, and humming help the practitioner
enter a higher state of consciousness.

The principle here is focus.  You could also try focusing on a
certain object or thought, or even, while keeping your eyes open, focus
on a single sight.

One sample routine would be to – while in a meditative state – silently
name every part of you body and focusing your consciousness on that part.
While doing this you should be aware of any tension on any part of your
body.  Mentally visualize releasing this tension.  It works wonders.

In all, meditation is a relatively risk free practice and its benefits
are well worth the effort (or non effort – remember we’re relaxing).

Studies have shown that meditation does bring about beneficial physiologic
effects to the body.  And there has been a growing consensus in the
medical community to further study the effects of such.  So in the
near future, who knows, that mystical, esoteric thing we call meditation
might become a science itself!

Feng Shui Principles

Feng shui principles can be very overwhelming if one allows themselves. This chinese philosophy is an age old tradition that takes years to completely understand. One can not simply buy a book and expect to know all the principles involved.

However, everyone who is interested in making their lives more harmonious due to the feng shui principles can follow a few easy and quick rules to enhance their life.

One of the first principles and most important that must be remembered and followed is that positive energy attracts positive energy. In other words, if one has positive thoughts then positive things will happen to you.

One of the most popular books on the market that incorporates this good feng shui principle is “The Secret”. Everyone from Oprah to CNN has discussed this book and this concept.

However, the success of this chinese philosophy depends on one’s intentions and constant attention, therefore thinking positively must be done consistently in order for a positive outcome to occur.

But no matter what the outcome, a person must be grateful for everything that they have even if they believe it is not what they deserve. If this alone is done, then things will truly come back to a person in full returns.

Because it takes years, a person cannot spend the time needed to learn all of their principles. However, a few simple of them can be followed if one takes time and incorporates them into their lives.

One easy principle to follow is to observe and be aware of the surroundings. Another one is to allow positive energy to flow freely after one harnesses it.

Either a feng shui book or feng shui consultation can help a person to achieve the process of harnessing positive energy in both the home and office. Another easy rule to follow is to always be able to see a person who is entering a room.

This can be achieved easily by placing a mirror strategically to allow a person to see all the entrances into a room that may otherwise be obstructed.

The feng shui principles that have been talked abut are very simple and basic. But, if a person can follow these principles, then a difference will be seen in the life of the individual practicing this chinese philosophy.

In order for it to work, a person must have faith in this philosophy. Your feng shui can be enhanced if only one gives this philosophy the proper time and attention that is needed. Above all, a person must believe for anything to work including feng shui.
